Taylor-Kale and her delegation for a welcome meeting, facility tour, and industrial base discussion.
As part of the visit, the Elmet team highlighted recent capital, machining, manufacturing, and workforce investments made at its 210,000 square foot facility, related to the ongoing support of the Department of Defense (DoD), as well as current capital projects intended to provide additional support for the U.S. industrial base and DoD programs.
Many of these programs have already increased U.S. industrial base resiliency, capabilities, and competition.
Founded in 1929, Elmet Technologies has been in business for 94 years, manufacturing a wide range of tungsten and molybdenum products for its partners and customers in defense, aerospace, medical, semiconductor, furnace, solar, energy, thin film and coating, and beyond.
In recent years, Elmet has demonstrated an increased ability to secure DoD project funding, and has shown tangible successes that directly support DoD and warfighter programs.
Elmet, along with the backing from the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy, has made major advancements in specialized materials and processes to serve future applications being developed for armed services.
