Elmet Technologies a leading manufacturer, with 90 years’ experience, of tungsten and molybdenum, has added tungsten heavy alloy (WHA) to their expanding list of materials & alloys. This list includes tungsten, molybdenum, TZM alloy, HCT molybdenum, lanthanated molybdenum (MoLa) and tungsten heavy alloy.
As the only US owned and operated, fully-integrated facility, Elmet produces its own pure tungsten powder at its facility in Lewiston, Maine and has large blending and alloying capabilities. All WHA meets ASTM B-777 and MIL-T-21014D requirements and is compliant with EU RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC, 2011/65/EU and with REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006.
STANDARD WHA ASTM B-777 MIL-T-21014D PRODUCT SIZES
Elmet Technologies presses and sinters high-quality WHA blocks, rods, and shaped parts. Sintered WHA blanks can be further rolled or swaged by Elmet to produce plates, sheets, and rods with ultimate tensile strengths exceeding 180 ksi (1240 MPa) and elongations exceeding 5%. Elmet also precision machines WHA parts for use as ballast weights, radiation shields, boring bars, ordnance components, and other components that require high density and good ductility.
