Molybdenum, MoLa, TZM & Tungsten Rod Products
Elmet is a global leader in the production of pure tungsten and molybdenum pressed, sintered and swaged rod material and the only fully integrated US-based refractory metal rod manufacturer. Elmet manufactures and stocks common sizes of molybdenum, tungsten and related alloy rod types for semiconductor, lighting, furnace, high-reliability diodes, and other applications. All of Elmet’s rod products are made in the USA at our Lewiston, Maine production facility. As with all of our products, we manufacture tungsten and molybdenum rod in a full range of sizes (.02″ to 1″) and many of our sizes are stocked for rapid delivery. Please call us at 1.800.343.8008 to discuss your application and needs.
Molybdenum Rod
- Pure Molybdenum Rod
- Threaded Rod: Numerous sizes available to support the high-temperature furnace market (and with matching hex nuts)
- Gun Drilled Rod: With newly added capabilities, Elmet offers a complete line of gun drilled rod products featuring partial and through holes, short to long lengths, and a wide range of outer and inner diameters.
- Molybdenum HCT Rod– Potassium-doped molybdenum for use where retention of low-temperature ductility after exposure to high temperatures is required.
- Molybdenum Lanthana (MoLa) Rod – Lanthana-doped molybdenum for use where application temperature limits exceed those of Molybdenum HCT.
- TZM Rod– Higher recrystallization temperature and better creep resistance than Mo
Tungsten Rod
- Pure Tungsten
- Tungsten Non-Sag Rod
- Gun Drilled Rod: With newly added capabilities, Elmet offers a complete line of gun drilled rod products featuring partial and through holes, short to long lengths, and a wide range of outer and inner diameters.

About our process:
Companies throughout the world depend on Elmet Technologies’ expertise in powder metallurgy. Our advanced powder processing produces pure tungsten and molybdenum metal powders and specific metal alloys. At Elmet, our process is fully integrated. We start with the raw material which is purified to tungsten and molybdenum metal powder through a chemical reduction process. The powder is then formed into semi-finished products through a series of advanced mixing, pressing, deformation and heating technologies.
