Molybdenum Wire. Elmet’s 99.95% pure .02″ molybdenum wire is made in the U.S.A. at our fully integrated Lewiston, Maine production facility, where Elmet has operated for over 90 years. Elmet is the sole U.S. owned and operated, fully integrated producer of pure molybdenum material and products. Our molybdenum wires come in a variety of dimensions. Elmet is ISO 9001, AS9100 and ITAR compliant.
Elmet’s molybdenum wire is used in a variety of cutting-edge industries including aerospace, medical equipment and devices, university R&D, lighting, and high temperature furnace applications. Elmet’s wire is produced beginning as a metal powder which is pressed into ingots, and drawn down to sizes as small as seven-ten-thousandths of an inch through a series of process steps. Our in-house processing allows Elmet to manufacture wire tailored to meet specific customer material and / or performance requirements.
Wire is typically sold on a per kg basis as length of spools produced vary.
