Tungsten Cubes
Elmet Technologies manufactures a wide variety of tungsten cubes, often utilized in fragmentation applications. As the only U.S. owned and operated, fully-integrated manufacturer of tungsten products, all of our manufacturing processes, advanced engineering techniques, and related processeses support a critical part of the U.S. manufacturing landscape, and help bolster the workforce here in the United States. From blending of the powder, to forming, machining, and sintering, to materials testing, inspecting, and shipping the finished product – it all happens in the USA at our Lewiston, Maine headquarters. For nearly 100 years, Elmet has been producing tungsten parts for a myriad of critical applications. Currently, we’re expanding our manufacturing capabilities and growing our team to support the several new Department of Defense projects we are working on with our partners. New specialized products include: tungsten cubes and spheres, in addition to tungsten heavy alloy products and related materials.
Common Sizes of Cubes
Here at Elmet Technologies, we manufacture a wide range of tungsten products. This includes powder, rod, sheet products, wire, and more. Specific to tungsten cubes, we manufacture finished products that are either: (a) cubed, or (b) rounded cubes. Elmet manufactures the following common sizes of cubes:
Product & Size | Weight (g) | Diameter (mm) |
6 mm (0.2362 in.) rounded cube | 3.564 | 6.0 |
6 mm (0.2362 in.) cube | 3.78 | 6.0 |
7 mm (0.2756 in.) rounded cube | 5.55 | 7.0 |
7 mm (0.2756 in.) cube | 5.88 | 7.0 |

About Tungsten Cubes
Tungsten cubes are made of one of the densest naturally occuring elements: tungsten. The high-density properties of tungsten have made it a highly sought-after material. While tungsten itself is used in a wide variety of applications – from medical, to lighting, to semiconductor applications, and beyond – in this section we’ll focus on the application of tungsten cubes. These components are typically utilized in military, defense, and aerospace applications. Specifically, they are widely used in fragmentation devices.
Fragmentation Settings
Due to their high density, compatibility, and kinetic abilities, among other material properties, tungsten cubes are often used in fragmentation settings. Uniquely, Elmet Technologies offers a specialized focus on fragmentation settings. Our specific offerings include rounded cubes and larger sizes.
