This past weekend, June 8th, Elmet Technologies participated in the 2019 Travis Mills Foundation Plane Pull, hosted by Northeast Air and supporting sponsors. An enthusiastic team of 25 employees, friends and family were challenged with the task of pulling an 80-ton, 757- FedEx plane across the tarmac. Each team was also tasked with helping meet the $50,000 fundraising goal.
We are elated to announce that over $100,000, double the fundraising goal, was collected. All the money raised will benefit the Travis Mills Foundation’s Veteran Family Retreat in Belgrade Lakes, a Maine retreat that focuses on helping rehabilitate and empower local veterans and their families. The program was developed and is run by The Travis Mills Foundation, a national non-profit based right here in Maine.
“Travis Mills and the Foundation’s Executive Director, Brandy Cain are amazing people,” said Andy Nichols, Elmet Technologies CEO. Andy went on to say “The Foundation is doing a great job of directly helping wounded service members and their families. Elmet looks forward to continuing our support to the Foundation.”
It was an easy decision for Elmet to come on board and support the Travis Mills Foundation because their mission really aligns with our companies values and purpose. As the only US-owned and operated molybdenum and tungsten producer providing materials and products for our Armed Forces, it is no surprise that we are proud supporters of all those who serve, and we seek out opportunities to give a little something back to honor all they have given. As Andy mentioned, Elmet is looking forward to our next big opportunity to support The Travis Mills Foundation and Maine Veterans!
